Biocides

Description

A biocide is a chemical substance capable of destroying various microorganisms and suppressing their vital processes both inside the structure of a material and outside. The toxicity of a substance depends on the degree of concentration. If following all the rules of use, biocides bring only benefits, disinfecting any material without changing its appearance and quality. According to the state of aggregation, substances can be: liquid; powdery (solid); gaseous.

Main functions:

  • Biocides inhibit the growth of bacteria, fungus, mold inside and on the surface of materials. It is present in various impregnations, varnishes, paints, household detergents.
  • Have an antimicrobial effect (included in antiseptics, antibiotics, purify wastewater).
  • Used as preservatives in the food industry.
  • In oil and gas production (treatment of pipelines, in repair work when blocking wells, as well as when drilling new and closing old development sites).

Application area:

  • Processing of wood and all materials and objects made on its basis;
  • Protection of plastics, rubber, rubber products, artificial leather, etc. against microflora;
  • Manufacture of fabrics, textiles, leather production and so on;
  • All types of technical oils, fuels, paints and varnishes contain biocidal compounds.
