Gypsum converter

Description

Gypsum converter SVV-500 is a ready-to-use additive that significantly increases the strength of gypsum products. The composition is carefully verified in the laboratory, therefore introducing additional substances to further enhance strength is not recommended and may negatively affect the final result.

If necessary, dry pigments and liquid colors may be added for mixture coloring, as well as tartaric or citric acid to extend the setting time. Before starting work, please note that the converter causes a slight delay in the setting time of the water-gypsum mixture.

Advantages

  • Significant increase in gypsum strength — the main function of the additive, enabling production of high-hardness and wear-resistant products without risk of chipping or breakage.
  • Compatibility with pigments and setting regulators — dry colorants, liquid tints, tartaric and citric acid can be introduced without compromising the primary effect.
  • Predictable influence on setting time — a slight delay provides additional time for forming complex items without disrupting the production cycle.
  • Low toxicity, non-flammability, and odorlessness — safe to work with, no special permits or complex ventilation systems required.
  • Environmental safety — the material does not release harmful substances during storage or after expiry and does not pollute the environment.

Applications

  • Production of decorative stone, 3D panels, and architectural decor.
  • Manufacture of stucco moldings, ceiling roses, cornices, and other gypsum interior elements.
  • Production of garden figures, sculptures, and souvenirs.
  • Any gypsum products with enhanced requirements for strength and wear resistance.

Packaging

Converter SVV-500 is supplied in paper laminated bags (2 kg) or in bags with a polyethylene insert (20 kg). Packaging can be changed at the buyer’s request.

Precautions

Prolonged contact may cause slight irritation of the skin and mucous membranes; prolonged inhalation may irritate the respiratory tract. It is recommended to avoid constant contact with the mixture or to use personal protective equipment (gloves, respirator).

FAQ

It significantly increases the strength of gypsum products, making them harder and more resistant to chipping, breakage, and abrasion. This is the primary reason why decorative stone, stucco, and garden figure manufacturers choose this additive.

No, this is not recommended. The converter’s formula is carefully balanced, and foreign additives may impair its performance. Only colorants and acids to adjust setting time are permitted.

It causes a slight, predictable delay, which is convenient when forming complex and thin-walled items. If a longer working time is required, additional tartaric or citric acid may be introduced.

Yes, the substance belongs to hazard class 3: non-toxic, non-flammable, odorless, and does not emit harmful substances. Nevertheless, it is advisable to use gloves and a respirator during prolonged direct contact.
