Our Accelerators
- Calcium nitrate (lime nitrate) – a granular product (Ca(NO₃)₂), highly soluble in water. In concrete, it fulfils three functions simultaneously: it accelerates cement hydration, acts as an antifreeze admixture (down to –20 °C when used in complex formulations), and passivates steel reinforcement, preventing corrosion. Unlike chloride-based accelerators, it does not trigger alkali-silica reactions and is safe for use with reactive aggregates.
- Sodium formate (HCO₂Na) – a powdered set and hardening accelerator with antifreeze action down to –15 °C. It works excellently with superplasticisers (e.g. naphthalene-sulfonate-based types such as S-3), compensating for its own weak plasticising effect. It contains no chlorides and does not cause reinforcement corrosion. Used in cast-in-situ and composite concrete structures, except for prestressed elements and those exposed to a relative humidity above 60%.
- Calcium formate (Ca(HCOO)₂) – a fine powder with a minimum active substance content of 98%. An effective chloride-free accelerator for concretes, tile adhesives, plasters, and grouts. Dosages of 2–4% by weight of cement in concretes, and 0.5–2% in dry mixes, provide reliable hardening at sub-zero temperatures without causing efflorescence or reinforcement corrosion.
